If you're not in the mood to order pizza delivery from your favorite local pizzeria and you're not in the mood for those pies you have in your freezer you might like to try making your own homemade pizza, it really is not that difficult.
You can buy ready made pizza dough in most super markets and all you have to do is press it out and top it with sauce and your favorite toppings. Another option is to make your own crust either from scratch or you can purchase a box of pizza dough mix.
No matter how you choose to make your crust and once you have your toppings on, your pizza is ready to put into the oven for cooking. The best way to create an authentic homemade pizza is to cook it on pizza stones.
You can store this in your oven when not in use and when you are ready to make your homemade pizza just turn on the oven and let the stone heat up to the desired temperature and its ready to put your pizza on top to cook to a beautiful golden brown crust.
Usually a pizza comes out with a softer crust on the bottom and if you cook it long enough to make it crisp, the top crust is now burned. If you're like me the crust is the part I like to save for last, to dig out the inner soft dough and then dip the crusty outside in my homemade ranch dressing, man now that's good stuff.
Let's face it, you need a pizza stone in order to enjoy your home pizzas like your favorite home delivery or dinning out location. It makes no difference if you are baking fresh or frozen, a pizza stone will make all the difference in the world. You get this result because the stone heats evenly so you do not end up with hot spots that burn your mouth. Once that happens, there is not enjoyment in that pie you looked so forward to eating.
If you are baking off you own pizzas you're going to need to slice it yourself and a great way to do that is with a pizza wheel, it leaves you with perfect slices to serve.
